So yeah, Smiley Smile was every bit as brilliant as Smile may have been. It was crazier, more cartoony, just as weird and drugged out, yet more stripped down...it fulfilled the whole smiling/humor theme better than Smile I think; they got it right, to me it just seems like they had to build it up musically to realize that what the album really called for was to be stripped down to its bare bones. It had an intimate, delicate, spontaneous feel to it that tickles me every time I hear it. The only thing I find wrong with Smiley Smile is Mike Love's lyrics on Good Vibrations. All of the other re-imagined Smile leftovers and feels were just as good as the originals, and the newer songs fit right in.
