OK, right, I didn't realise that was what the problem was... but I have experienced this too. So this is what you need to do. You need to upload those particular pictures you want to include to a picture site, like Tumblr, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket, ImageShack or any of the picture host sites and then you refer the URLs that are given by these sites.
btw, the pictures are reduced to a certain size, but not thumbnail size. To see their real size, click on them and they grow to the original size.
