With today's lifestyle, most men would be obese if the only exercise they got was from the work they do and nutrition they got was from the food they ate. We live in a society where most sit on our asses the whole day in front of a computer. For the guys that go to the gym after work, that take the time to prepare their meals and shakes ahead of time and the men that have the self discipline to be in the weight room at 5am, I take my hat off. They realise that we do not get enough exercise so they compensate for that. I have lived that lifestyle and it was hard work, but if given the opportunity to do it again, I would, no hesitation.

My original point was that I don't understand the mentality of why any man would want to go beyond just being in shape. Take the Mr. Universe pageant. I don't know what makes anyone want to vandalize their body like that. Just as anorexia is a devastating condition, so is this. But yet deforming yourself via anorexia is considered bad, while deforming your body via over-strenuous and hazardous workout routines is considered good.

I sit on my ass all day at a desk, and I go for a walk everyday after work...sometimes I get on the treadmill. But thats not what Im talking about. Im talking about deforming your body on purpose.

Everybody needs to exercise, but not to the extent of going overboard....which is what is considered "normal", and it isnt. Its fine to be in shape, but not to the extent of vandalizing yourself and deforming your body.
