Greece and the EU: Why are we not talking about this?

The behaviour of the EU states towards Greece is inexplicable in the terms in which the EU defines itself. It is, first and foremost, a failure of solidarity.

Neither I nor the Germans have any desire to stand in solidarity with those who habitually pay themselves more than they earn. The Greeks failed to stand in solidarity with those countries that managed their public finances properly.
