True hermaphrodism is incredibly rare in humans, and when it does happen it means they have testicular and ovarian tissue, not that they have a fully formed vagina and a fully formed penis. Rather you get people who are intersex, which usually means they have intermediate genitalia that is somewhere between male and female, like they may have a relatively large clitoris. It's also rare that someone born intersex would not have anatomically normal genitalia as an adult, since standard medical procedure is to surgically normalize. Although, intersex activist have strongly fought against this process in favor of leaving the choice up to them as adults whether they want to normalize their genitalia, since the procedures involved often remove sexual sensation.

Just fyi: It is considered rude to refer to intersex individuals as hermaphrodites because of the historical association with freak shows and other discriminatory language.

As a woman , I always follow my heart.
If I were to fall in love with one , then sure I would.

It's a very hypothetical situation, and one which I can only answer honestly as 'maybe', it would depend entirely on their personality and character. I like my men to be men so of course there is going to be a 'maybe' when there are both genders involved. I certainly wouldn't rule anything out.

I think there is misunderstanding of what true hermaphroditism now known as intersex looks like or is.

I think its transsexual that you are talking about 'best of both worlds' and all. Perhaps pre-op hormone therapied transgender where they have the breasts of women and still retain an intact penis.

Considering there were two women (excluding Meryl Steep) who I had a real attraction to, and was some definite sexual tension there (on my side of the table, both were lesbians thus most likely had no interest) My use of the word 'gay' to describe myself may be a bit off target. Identify with the word because I have only formed lover-type relationships (and only had sex with) males. And that is only 8 males. So I might be about 80% gay and 20% straight.

They were lesbians - Which may account for that odd attraction, I suspect in many ways they had a male persona, a 'manliness' about them.

Given that and what a hermaphrodite really is, I suspect that yes I could date one if they had a more masculine personality. And most likley have sex with them too - you know 'date' (wink wink).

You are really beginning to confuse me Bowyn. Sometimes you offer some great and constructive advice.

and THEN there are the presumptive and condescending posts that you throw out there which seem totally out of character for you and at times completely off topic.

Is there a problem?

I don't know if i would. For me the relationship is more important so I guess its possible to date and have sex with hermaphrodite. I don't really think that anybody can say for sure until they are in the situation.

Of the topic: If you didn't read the book "Middlesex" from Jeffrey Eugenides look it up. Its about hermaphrodite and its really funny and well write book Smile
