I've been finding some anomalies on a credit card, several small charges, and it has gotten me a little worried. One possibility is that there are some Amazon orders being processed, though the charges aren't a perfect match for what's owed which is what's making me nervous.
So does anyone know how long it takes Amazon to clear credit charges? I'd like to deal with this, but I wouldn't want to create a lot of inconvenience reporting a card compromised simply because of legite Amazon orders that are being handled differently than reported on the invoice (for example, if the charges come from each item as it's prepared for shipment and with cuts made for the individual dealers and for Amazon's services, that could explain the anomalies).
The last Amazon order (which included several items that have been separated into multiple shipments, many of which haven't been shipped yet) was made April 9 (the last 10 charges were made on April 10 and 11 and this card hasn't been used on those days, so it's either Amazon or something's wrong). So when should the last of the charges go through? And does anyone know if they don't put the charge through until the items are shipped, or do they do it before shipment?
