Best part?
#1
Gay Male ISO amd athlon ii adx630wfk42gi

The full data on the chip is:

AMD Athalon II
ADX630WFK42GI
CADAC AD 1006APBW
9E1125 1600266

How accurate is that information? Let's see I was using magnifying lens and my reading glasses standing outside in full sunlight. This data appears etched into the metal of the shroud that surrounds the delicate innards. Some of those 0 (zeros) may actually be "o's"

For comparison, I cannot read the year date on a penny nor see the mint mark anymore even with glasses and a magnifying lens. As example I am currently looking at a penny that may have been minted in 2014 or 3014 or 2044 or 3044 - the only clear number is the 0

We got the computer from Best Buy and yes wouldn't you know the Computer Geek policy (warranty) has expired.

Going to best buy online tells us that this part is out of stock ??? My partner went over to the mother-in laws and according to his web-search on that computer (which is as iffy as searching the web as this one) that the part is no longer manufactured and there were a series of other choices.

This computer redirects to interesting sites that are not the sites linked to on search engines - so my ability to locate this part is problematic (at best). Trying to get on the computer library computers on weekend when I turn in my books is at the very least a three hour wait - more at times. It appears there are many more homeless on the net than in previous years - of course there are more homeless Cry

I have seen a few prices which range from $68 (USD) to 166 (USD) - however they are not the exact same part.

Please do not suggest E bay nor Craigslist as I have been screwed on both of those sites in past and do not feel like shelling out hundreds of dollars attempting to get the part. We have done this before on Ebay and my experience with selling two cord of firewood from my own property ended up being a nightmare with a person who used all sorts of drugs and got a hard on for me (literally and otherwise) and it took a couple of months to get rid of him. Rolleyes

I tried getting to the AMD website, but there are 955 pages to sort through and their search engine will not accept amd athlon ii adx630wfk42gi as a search object. And of course when a search engine is used on this computer we are redirected to hell.

So any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

I assure you, this will definitely be the last time I open up my computer to clean it. Next time I will just toss it in the swimming pool when I shock the pool, water and pool chemicals should clean out those hard to reach places

AMD Athlon II x4 630 is all you need to look for.

But you can replace it with and AMD AM2+ or AM3 chipset

I am sorry I can't give you any advice. I just admire that you haven't lost your sense of humor. I would be wreck after so many days involuntarily spent without the internet and all my on line friends Smile

try newegg.com for the part
or
if you can determine the mounting style of mother board buy a whole new mother board

searching for the part alone:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6819103703
new egg indicated the part is out of stock for them
just did a google ( Athalon II ADX630WFK42GI ) and it seemed CDW has the part,

http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/AMD-Ath...630WFK42GM

hope this helps

Replace with means I get the same crappy over heating when a bit of dust gets in their or are these replacements 'better'?

Let's pretend I know nothing about computers (not far from the truth) as a computer person which would your recommend?

Whole new mother board?

Hmm this is something I have not considered. Is there an advantage to a new mother board?

the important thing is only you get the thingy up and running. It looks like the processor is still available.

you have to have the same mechanical mounting for the board. The new board will still have to accommodate your old hard drive and other bits too. I would buy a new processor among other things.

i changed out the battery in my cell and bricked it. I went and bought a used phone in a time i really didnt want to spend the money. You have been puddling on this for a time. Accept occasionally we bump into things where we really dont want to go.

I have an AMD Athlon II x 4 955 and never had it go over 40c, even on a day in the high 30c, so I can recommend that model.

Buy a can of compressed air and a cheap paint brush, that way you can clean the heatsink without removing any parts from you Computer. Remember to always have one hand on your computer case if you are touching anything inside the case so you don't damage anything with static.
