Hi everyone!!

Anybody knows about pet’s clicker training. Which type of training is it and what it's cost? I got a Pomeranian dog . I want to train him.

Thanks.

Clicker training is used mostly for working dogs (Border Collies, Cattle Dogs, Kelpies) as the sound travels better than voice commands and a whistle.

Clicker training is done pretty much the same way voice training is done and can be done in conjunction with clicker training.

Google is your friend, and here are a few results I googled.

I do not see a Pomeranian as a work dog, As Dfiant pointed out clicker training is usually applied to work dogs which are medium to large breeds.

Saying "I want to train my dog" covers a very wide area here. What exactly do you you want to train the dog to do? Sniff our bombs and drugs? Train to bring down intruders? Train to fetch, roll over, play dead and shake?

If this is your first dog would strongly suggest going to dog school. Preferably one of those where both the person and the dog take classes together, thus both are getting trained.

Not only does this provide you with a knowledgeable person who can tailor your experience to meet your needs, it also provides a much needed environment to socialize your dog.

Dogs need to be socialized - a lot of the problems people have with their dogs is due to the dog being locked up in the back yard and not given a chance to explore the world, meet other dogs and other people and learn how to behave and interact.

Clicker training isn't restricted to working dogs, nor is it less effective on breeds like a Pomeranian.

It is a very effective training method on any breed of dog, dogs respond to the clicker quicker than voice commands.

its not a god given right you understand everything about a dog, actually they are not that simple. Some one on one sessions with a trainer is expensive but could improve your live(s). Think in terms of a list of things you need out of the dog and the trainer will show you how to do it.
