A beautiful gift from nature.

How beautiful! I'm not too familiar with birds but since I've been waking up earlier and hearing them in the morning I've found a new appreciation.

Here are pictures from the nest. I need to remember to take some now that they are out and pestering mum.

They are not the best. I was trying not to scare her but freaking out because she was feeding them while I was sitting under the deck. You might need to click on them (especially the last) to enlarge.

We get cardinals (the bird not the high ranking Church officials) around the house sometimes in the afternoon, they're beautiful but their calls are like nails on a chalkboard.

I wish more people thought like this  .

People take nature for granted, but I love it so much... I'm gonna go roll in it  .

Mum!!

I don't know if it's the same in Australia, but here, seeing a red bird is a sign of extreme good luck. Seeing one is a sign here, usually something good is heading your way if you see one.

We have Cardinals [the bird as Pip pointed out, not the Church officials] here, and it's rare to see them, but when we do, it's something we talk about for awhile, because it's not as common as other birds.

We also have Blue Jays, which are also rare and are equally as good a sign.

I once saw a Cardinal sitting on a chair in my backyard and I was jumping up and down like crazy Biglaugh .

I've had a Baby Blue Jay before, believe it or not, because it was abandoned by it's mother I guess, and I took it home and gave it earthworms and small bugs. I looked in the container I kept it in[because it wasn't flying when I found it] and it was gone. I looked around for it, but I guess it decided to fly away. I'll never forget that.

It's one of the reasons why I love animals so much[also an incident with a kitten and a toad... but that's another story] and am so enamoured with them.

Thanks so much for sharing Mum! They are so pretty! They look to be quite content on your tree  .

They are gorgeous azulai , thank you so much for taking those pictures.
I doubt we have them here in Australia.

Love the stories from you guys , thanks for sharing.
I can get lost in natures beauty so quickly ,it's the most calming feeling.

The very first time a butterfly landed on my hand , I stayed out for an hour , I did not want to move a muscle , it was amazing , and it had no fear of me.
