mboile me is dead, replaced iCloud. Limited time you can migrate to iCloud and save your data.
iCloud will not work on osx10.6
some old macbook's with a single core processor will not upgrade to 10.6

via system preferences turn off your old mobile me iDisk sync and again save any data.

alternatives to iDisk is DropBox and a few others, google has an offering too.
