A quiet, no fuss, simple 'I'm gay' is ok I guess.
I gathered that Cooper was gay by things he said off stage (off the news, on other shows). he didn't make a big deal about it, and that is how we should really be going about it.
Simply letting it slip out, or talking about our significant others should be the way it is 'told'. We don't need fanfare, and we don't need to make a huge fuss over it. Straights don't make a big fuss about their sexuality, we should need to either.
Yes I understand that coming out to family is stressful, especially with how some people get all drama queen when their kid turns out to be 'that way'. But, I feel our comfort level in society would be better served if we treat our sexuality as if it is yet one more mundane factoid, and not allow society to force us to make it into a much bigger deal than it should be.

Bowyn, can't the fuss about celebrities coming out help straight people get used to the idea? I bet there are a lot of homophobic people among their fans, maybe they will at least think about it...
I don't know... wishful thinking?
