Unfortunately, you seem to be correct and I'm left to wonder now, did I make the wrong decision in defending him in his Ugly Gay Men thread?

I was giving the BOTD[Benefit of the Doubt], but it seems I must revoke it...

As long as Ethnicity doesn't come into play, I shall remain blissfully ignorant, though, it's quite sad that he has so many discriminatory views in regards to human interaction in the general sense, not even sexually.

I can't bring myself to hate or dislike, but I do feel pity...

lol...just had a thought...for someone that hates flamers, he comes across as one of the biggest flamers.

A flamers role is to seek attention, and that is exactly what I see the OP doing. He doesn't want people to agree with him, he wants to say something that he knows is going backfire on him and get attacked and then pull out the 'oh! poor me card' and milk it for sympathy...I believe it has happened in at least 2 other threads he has started.

Hmmmm...That's all I have to say about dimplomacy today Wink

Quote:Again, guys think that you should give anyone a chance if they have a penis. A penis does not make me attracted to someone. I don't wanna see picture of a guy's dick, they don't do anything for me. We all know that dating is not just sexual arousal, it's also emotional attatchment as well.
You also have to realize that in that sense, sexuality is not just liking dicks or vaginas. We associate it with traits that we look for in people, which we associate with being attracted to someone.

You do realize this completely contradicts what you're saying, right? You've essentially said 'dating is about emotional attachment,' but you've also said that 'we associate people with traits we look for in people.' You're effectively saying that you can't be emotionally attached to someone if you don't think they're attractive, which makes no sense at all. If that were the case, gay men would not be friends with women and gay women would not be friends with straight men, straight guys with other men, straight women with other women, etc. Why? Because they don't find them 'physically attractive,' and by that I mean you assume in a sexual/lust manner.

Quote:Also, tell me how often you'd see a straight guy date a butch girl... or a straight girl date a femme guy..

Straight guys date 'butch' girls all the time. Girls who have muscle, girls who work out, girls who play sports and aren't 'soft.' Hell -- a lot of these baywatch models are ripped to all hell, have muscles, etc. Some have short hair too. That doesn't stop straight guys from dating them.

Also -- as to girls dating femme guys, do you know nothing of the goth/'emo'/alternative/scene culture? Pretty much all the guys in the emo/scene culture have long hair, wear eyeliner, have piercings, crossdress, etc. and girls LOVE them.

I should also add that as a guy who's usually considered 'feminine,' I have no trouble finding guys. I might be a bit pompous for saying this, but I have guys from ALL walks of life look at me, check me out, message me online, etc. Buff 'butch/masc' guys. Femme guys. Older men. 'Straight' men. Men with their wives or girlfriends. I used to think that having your hair a certain style/color or dressing a certain way was what attracted guys to you, but being in Austin, I've learned that is completely NOT true. If a guy likes what he sees, he's going to like it. Doesn't matter if you're the biggest femme in town or if you've got the biggest muscles at the gym. If a guy likes what he sees, he's not going to care how your aesthetic appearance is.

Well I don't see straights go for non-conformists that often. Most girls I know said that their men cannot wear makeup, cannot shave his body parts (has to be naturally smoother), because they consider it too feminine. Likewise, most men say they would not date a girl with a six-pack and they prefer longer hair.

And no offense if this is offensive, but... I've seen your pics and you're pretty attractive. You have nice facial features and stuff that can be universally appreciated. Keep in mind that if someone doesn't, then they pretty much have to try and conform to standards to get a man. I'm not saying that your face is the only reason anyone dates you, but... I dunno.
