CFA backs down

Not sure I believe it but apparently they didn't get as much support for their bigotry as was trumpeted (I'm sure they got their crowds, but if sales as a whole take a dive and stay low then that would explain this):

Quote:Chick-fil-A, working with Illinois-based advocacy group The Civil Rights Agenda, has reportedly ceased making donations to anti-gay organizations and has circulated an internal memo emphasizing its commitment to fair and equal treatment of all people.

I don't beleive them. Look at the wording. These family groups constantly insist they are not anti gay nor hateful in any way...yet they are. This new statement just reflects that.

Not that I would eat there anyway but if there were any around and I didn't mind consuming pure crap...I would not ever patronize them.

Quote:We have no agenda, policy or position against anyone. We have a 65-year history of providing hospitality for all people and, as a dedicated family business, serving and valuing everyone regardless of their beliefs or opinions…The genuine, historical intent of our WinShape Foundation and corporate giving has been to support youth, family and educational programs.

Translates to "It's business as usual, we'll just donate to some other family and youth supporting group. We added a clause to our policy to prevent discrimination law suits, so we won't have to pay a lawyer. We think this lip service will get our customers back and, our profits up."

Enough said.
