about katumu : the (kh)in khartoum is actually a letter with no equivalent in english , it is pronounced like the french R in France
Katumu is a fast expanding city due to many economic factors , its population is estimated to be about 8 milions , and the Y shaped concourse of the blue nile and white nile to form the river nile divides it to the major cities of Khartoum , Khartoum north ( Bahri ), and Omdurman ..
Khartoum is found in 1820s , by the egyptian - turkish colonias , small village was in that area , and the city was deserted after the Mahadi revolution , then the revolutionists build Omdurman city , and till now neighborhoods of Omdurman are named after the leaders of Mahadi army. Khartoum is rebuilt by the British in 1898 , and it was first limited to government officials and soldiers ...
