Why must every new gadget glow?
#1
I'm not taking the monitors, I'm talking about the on button, the tiny led light that tells you a thing is on. I turn off the lights in my house and my TV glows, my computers glow, the cable box glows, the dvd player glows, the stove glows, and the coffee maker has this huge blinding beacon of a dial/face that lights up the whole kitchen so bright it hurts my eyes when I wake up at 4 am in the morning.

Why on earth does everything need a fraking light on it in the 21st century?

I know what you mean. My digi box lights up the whole room even when the lights or off. Smile

Because glowing things are cool and whenever something becomes cool it has to be so exaggerated and overused that it ends up being annoying instead of cool.

I know, it's annoying. Blue light here, red light there, orange on over yonder, yellow in that room, green on this thing.....

Then they beep and buzz too. Even my freezers glow and buzz, my pickup, truck and car all do it, so doe both phones, the thermometer, the DTV box, the computer, modem.. even to blasted air freshener in the bathroom glows.

They really do not bother me that much, as long as they stay out of my bedroom.

It's more Christmas-y that way.

I agree. For medical reasons I sleep hooked up to a feeding pump and have done so my whole life. The thing is very bright and makes a loud churning sound every fifteen minutes. At this point I more than used to it (in fact I don't know if I could go to sleep without it now). But for some reason, if there is any new blinking or buzzing anything in the room it drives me crazy. Weird huh?

*deep breath* OMG that had me in stitches! Oh gosh it's only so funny coz it's so true. Everything has glowing thingies nowadays lol. I cover them up with sticky notes coz I can't help but end up STARING at the neon blue light on my digital clock when I'm trying to sleep.
