Word of the Day
#1
What word are you feeling today? As well as giving you the opportunity to share what word you are enjoying at the moment, this also provides the opportunity to expand your vocabulary.

Today, I am choosing thrice. It is a hugely underused word (even though it is fun to say)

Adverb

Definition:

1. Three times: "a dose of 25 mg thrice daily"; "thrice married".
2. Extremely; very: "I was thrice blessed".

Synonyms:

Three times

My choice would be wembley, (adj.): that faint nauseous feeling that can accompany hunger. As in, after walking all afternoon and failing to find a place to eat, I came over all wembley and had to sit down.

Another is accubation (n.): The practice of eating or drinking while lying down. As in, the ancient Romans engaged in accubation at their feasts.

As an accomplished aeolist (I'll leave that one as an exercise for the reader) I've got lots of these.

One of these is made up. We are allowed to make them up, right?
