Anime, anyone?

Oh come on that's not a spoiler! That's like saying "At some point in Kill Bill an adult dies" Tongue

Fair enough, it is an Adult. and quite the death as well. It would be a very traumatizing experience if it were to happen in real life. But then again, you could probably say that about most of the deaths ^o^

Has anyone seen Natsume Yuujinchou? I'm thinking about watching it and I'm quite on the fence.

With the notable exception of the movies by Hayao Miyazaki (especially Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke) I'm generally not a fan of anime. I can enjoy them for like a rainy afternoon, but they rarely pull me in (though I briefly became a huge fan of The Slayers back when it was especially silly).

But I was wondering what people thought of Pandora Hearts?

I've been watching this vid on YT a lot lately as it has intrigued me so as well as just liking it so much:

Thing is I LOVE twisted fairy tales and the works of Lewis Carroll, and yet there hasn't been a single movie based on the works of Lewis Carroll that I've liked yet. And as I say, anime is usually ok to me but isn't that big of a deal. Yet I'm wondering if I just might love this series despite that, because I LOVE that AMV (AMV = Anime Music Video, a form of tribute to anime series). Any thoughts by anyone who has seen the actual show?

I'm meaning to rent it if I can find it, don't know if I'll be able to or not. The local vid store I use has a large anime section but they don't have everything. I'll be hesitant to order it off of Amazon if they don't have it unless I can find more of a reason to get it than that one AMV (and what I've read of it on wikipedia).

I haven't seen Pandora Hearts but people from the anime community seems to have liked it pretty much. I'm not sure if that says anything to you though since you mentioned you usually don't like the medium but a lot of people seem to have enjoyed it Smile

Just a recommendation though, from someone who also likes twisted fairytales: Princess Tutu.

It's a beautiful anime. Each ghost has it's own story and the story line is very simple but effective. they have some real comedic and some real sad upsetting stories. a serious anime about life and death and the life there after. Beerchug
