Australian Soaps

Not a soap guy but Oz is just great at kid's shows. Lockie Leonard is just brilliant and so funny. Round the Twist was simply insane especially when a tree made the boy pregnant.

its a bit of a running joke in my group of friends that the only people that likes australian tv are the english and the only people that like australian movies are the Americans.

I met Shane Withington, Grant Dodwell and Lucas Borich when they were shooting for Willing and Abel at Mrs Macquaries chair.

I also met Shirl at a Shell service station in Loftus.

I love A Country Practice, but the last few seasons were not so good Sad

I used to love Prisoner ! It used to be on so late, but I'd have to stay up and watch it (instead of recording), in case anyone would spoil it for me at school the next day.

I remember buying the 7'' vinyl to On The Inside. I was so pleased when it got to #3 in the chart.

'Wentworth' - I'm looking forward to that new remake (or ''re-imagining'' or whatever they're calling it).

As for other Australian soaps...
I watched Neighbours for the first few years.
I liked Home & Away, and even now I sometimes have it on in the background. I like the grown up characters (Marilyn,Irene,Alf and Morag when she's in it, Colleen too), but tune out for the teen scenes. The teen actors don't impress me the way the likes of Bobby & Roo did, back in the day.

I'm sure I still have a couple of Home & Away and Neighbours magazines in a box somewhere.

There was a shortlived soap called Richmond Hill. That had potential, and was axed far too soon.
Breakers was another one I was just getting into, when the axe fell.

I loved Sons & Daughters. So over the top. Cliff hangers to make me gasp or laugh out loud. Sometimes both.
The theme tune, sepia opening/closing credits are glorious !

When i was a wee kid, it was all about "home & away" and "neighbours" . I stopped when i was about 14. Does anyone remember shane and angel. Yeah i loved it all. Especially the sad music on home & away, when someone died, i loved that music.
