just to play devils advocate here, people can have a huge variety of kinks and fetishes, as long as it is safe then I don't see what the harm is. Obviously there are a lot of things that might be a huge turn off for some people and a huge turn on for others.
Giving names to these activities can be beneficial. Especially if discussed in public, if he had asked you about the activity while still at the restraunt, would you have prefferred him to call it churning butter, or give a detailed description that everyone could hear?
Also better that he asked you first rather than you getting a nasty surprise when he tries to do it to you.
