Jason Mraz: a truly inspirational guy. His songs never fail to brighten up my day, his lyrics/music is amazing.
Also, his blog is very inspiring and I've quoted him once or twice on here I believe.

Nick Scott

Back in 1998, Nick was diagnosed as a paraplegic and was told he would never walk again. Not willing to sit back and let his life slip away, he decided to take charge.

Quote:After graduating college I wanted to compete again so I searched "Wheelchair Bodybuilding" and barely found anything. To make things short, I taught myself what I needed to do, flew to Florida and competed for the first time in the 2006 Wheelchair Nationals.

That night I thought the world should know about Wheelchair Bodybuilding, I told a few guys and got laughed at for my visions. So when I got home I searched "how to build a website", built http://www.wheelchair-bodybuilding.com, did a lot of research, hunted down wheelchair bodybuilders and added bodybuilding shows that had Wheelchair Divisions!

Nicholas James Vujicic (born 4 December 1982) is a Serbian Australian evangelist and motivational speaker born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of all four limbs. As a child, he struggled mentally and emotionally as well as physically, but eventually came to terms with his disability and, at the age of seventeen, started his own non-profit organisation, Life Without Limits. Vujicic presents motivational speeches worldwide, on life with a disability, hope and finding meaning in life. He also speaks about his belief that God can use any willing heart to do his work and that God is big enough to overcome any and all disabilities.

Jay's Note: I have one of his books.

Bill Kaulitz, who told me that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, or what your past is. That you can be whoever you want to be and that you can accomplish your dreams whatever the case. He told me I had every right to be me, no matter what others thought.

I don't know there are people I admire, but I've never been one for idolizing others, I haven't the passionate impulse in me.

I have a fond admiration for my undergraduate supervisor who continues to be a stellar supporter of my academic career and a significant influence on my scholarly interests. Another former professor of mine I admire is Dr. Touklas, who was one of the first doctors to treat HIV/AIDS patients in Montreal, which he had to do in an abandoned wing of a hospital because of fears about contagion.
