Hokay, my personal rant of the moment is directed at Cineworld.

I got a bonus at work in June and thought "Ooh cool - I'll treat myself to this thing I've heard about called an "Unlimited Card" from Cineworld".

Basically it's a system where you either have a monthly or yearly "card" with Cineworld that you pay to have - it's either £12 a month or £145 a year (round figures), and then once you've paid it entitles you to watch "Unlimited Movies" (just in regular seats - no VIP stuff, but still - good deal eh ?), so you take it in with you, wave it at the ticket desk, and they give you a ticket.

To prevent you abusing the system you have to present your ticket AND your card when you go into the movie, and your card has your photo on it so you can't nip down and grab somebody else a ticket, for example.

ANYHOW.

I get the card and I'm all excited 'coz there are LOADS of movies out at the moment that I want to watch ... Hancock, Prince Caspian, there's that new Mummy movie coming out, there's the new Hellboy movie coming out, there's just TONNES of movies ... and I get their newsletter as well (another "perk" of having the card), and I'm flicking through the newsletter and spot all these showings have the words "no passes" written underneath them ...

... which :confused: confuses me :confused: a little ...

So I call them up and say "what's this ?" ('coz it's not explained what "no passes" means anywhere on the newsletter), and they say that it means you cannot use your card to go and watch the movie ...

... so basically you can use your "Unlimited Card" to watch any movie that has already been out for like ... three weeks, but nothing that's new !!!!!

So I've written them a b*llocking to say (basically) "What the f*ck are you playing at ?", and I'm waiting to hear back from them, but my advice is to get that straightened out from them BEFORE you consider buying an "Unlimited Card" from them, 'coz otherwise it's a TOTAL waste of money.

I was a bit stunned by something that happened in the middle of last week. Went weekly shopping which includes Aldis. I believe these stores are in Europe too.

These stores have large boxes of produce. The watermelon box must have about 50 large melons. They were having a sale on cantaloupe and everyone was scooping them up. The cantaloupe were getting pretty low in the box and the box is really deep.

I noticed this old woman trying to reach in and get a cantaloupe but having trouble so I came over and asked if I could help. She said yes, thank you. I asked her which cantaloupe she wanted so I grabbed it for her. I showed it to her to make sure it wasnt bruised & such. She said it was a good one and I handed it to her.

Then she said "You are my angel!"

I giggled at that and said "No, Im not" and smiled at her and left.

This started me thinking on a couple topics.

1. Have we become so careless as humans that we dont notice such a simple thing to help someone in such a simple thing? I guess she said that angel thing because it was so rare for someone to help her, wtf. I wasnt even in the boyscouts but what ever happened to helping the old lady across the street?

Do you stop and help when you notice someone needs help or are you too busy?

2. NOW. What would have happened if I had "HOMO" tattooed on my forehead? or "AIDS"? Would I still be seen as an angel? would she even have let me touch her food? or her hand?

maybe I am just thinking too much???
