I think you have posted this before. Still pretty damned good to read.

People forget how they thought when they were little. Little kids still do not have a grasp of the language and its intricacies yet, so what they think is a good choice of words for their expression.....comes out sounding strange, weird, or scary to us.

Of course, then again, you never know if your kid is the next Charles Manson or Jeffery Dahmer.......
