Help the newbie!

So, recently i decided to buy my first...toy, idk if i should call it dildo or whatever...
it's about 8in long and 2in thick, which means that it's big as hell for someone who has never had anal sex! the thing is, even with a bit of lube i can't really get much of it inside me and it hurts a bit after i'm done(even though it feels amazing while i'm doing it) so i was thinking if someone could help me out, point me something i could do to ease into it...
