Oh indian cuisine is heaven served on a plate. Korma, Vindaloo, Tikka with Raita & Naan bread, oh yum!
Sometimes you need a bit of chaos in your life to be able to shrug off pitiful disdain about something meaningless.

Sweets and desserts from the subcontinent are brilliant. I was recently reading a book on the history of sweets and they had this big chapter on India. It all sounded so delicious.

There's an Indian sweets maker near where I live, I tried a milky slice sort of sweet called Peda. Jalebi is also delicious, it's so syrupy and flavoursome!

I am really surprised so little of their sweets and desserts took off here compared to how well their cuisine did.

I'll try anything once. I used to live about 500 metres from one of the best Indian Restaurants in Australia and I couldn't get enough of it, but one of the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in was in Osaka Japan, their Naan was to die for.

I am too! People just don't know enough about Indian sweets!

India is the land of sweet things, everybody has a sweet tooth. Oh my god their desserts are ridiculously sweet, the only way they're not sickly is because of the use of spices. apparently India also has quite a high rate of diabetes... so that's not good but it does show how much sweets and desserts are enjoyed in Desi culture.

I think actually... it might be that because of how sweet their desserts are, that's why they didn't take off. They tend to be little bits and bobs rather than a large what we would consider a dessert (like a cake or whatever).
