She put the great back in to Britain. Not a fan of her parties policies on LGBT issues and Section 28 of the Local Government Act of 1988 which stated that: "a local authorityshall not intentionally promote homosexuality or publish material with the intention of promoting homosexuality" or "promote the teaching in any maintained school of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship" Because it did not create a criminal offence, no prosecution was ever brought under this provision. I was still at school during the Miners Strike of 1984 and recall being in two minds about the whole thing. I didn't see why an unelected body like a Trades Union should have been able to dictate the price of Coal, allow rubish to go uncollected, the dead to go unburied, or if commodities would be unloaded at the docks. On the other hand I believe that everyone should have the right to withdraw their labour if they are in a legitimate dispute with heir employer regarding pay and conditions. I despised the behaviour of some of the men on picket lines who were not there to protest or picket but to riot and throw missiles at the police. Nor did I like the Police Baton charges and the horrific injuries caused to many people who exercising their legitimate human right to take such industrial action in a law abiding manner. I loathe and detest Arthur Scargill! My family did okay under the Conservative administration. My parents were able to send my brother and I to a decent school where we boarded and so my parents were able to work longer. Basically, in Thatcher's Britain, if you worked hard the rewards soon came.
She was a nasty bitch who looked after her tory friends and didn't give a fuck about anyone else. The only nice thing you can say about her is that she played a part in inventing mr softies.
I don't know a whole lot about Thatcher, or U.K. politics in general for that matter. Would this be the British equivalent of Bush being filmed chopping down a tree to appeal to the common folk?
I read it's going to cost around 8 to 10 Million for her funeral. Paid for, by taxpayers money. Pretty sure that money could be best used for something else.

Kind of ironic considering all the privatisation she supported...
