At my high school we don't have to take showers in P.E. , Which for me is probably for the best because I know I either would have had a erection that someone would have seen or,I would have been caught staring at someones junk and then I would have had to lie to try and cover up the real reason I was staring at their junk.But anyway I'm going to stop rambling now.

Wow, this is very interesting. I'm older them most of you but showering when I was in High School was just part of PE everyday for 4 years. We never had a choice. We had those long shower rooms and everyone went in and showered. It was so normal that I don't remember ever getting hard, in fact I don't remember seeing anyone else for that matter and there must have been 30 kids at a time in the shower together. I think it was actually a very good experience and if I had it to do over again I'd want it that way. It wasn't always pleasant with teasing, towel snapping etc. but it made me grow up to not be so modest and ashamed of my body. I think society already makes the naked body something you should be ashamed of, so seems to me that now that kids never have that experience it just reinforces that whole idea that our naked bodies something that we have to hide. I'm not saying we should be able to walk around naked but...........anyway that's just my opinion and I respect everyone else's opinion here

I like this answer. Belonging to Generation Y (or the Millennial gen, or The Net Gen, or Generation Next, or the 9/11 Generation, or the We Generation, or the Echo Boomers, or the... oh, fuck it) I never had to shower after gym. Though we did have to strip down to our undies. I got teased something terrible because I had some mega weight issues and accumulated a few nicknames that I still think about when I take off my shirt alone in my room. That being said, I think that if I had a normal body type I would've preferred to shower after class. Not because I would've wanted to frolic amongst a bunch of agro intimidating boys, but because I agree with you that we have too much shame associated with our bodies in general, and sometimes it's important to do things that you're afraid to do.

As for sexual arousal, my experience with not-all-the-way nudity in locker rooms never even slightly made me aroused. I was completely terrified the whole time and you learn very quickly (if you know you're attracted to fellas) to keep your eyes down and get out of there as fast as possible.

same here, there was always a lot of athletes in my gym class so that would not have been good.

I guess I couldn't help looking. There was something going on in my mind back then, just didn't know what. Homosexuality in a central valley California town was never mentioned in school, or at home, or among friends. I didn't even know that the word "Gay" was used to describe homosexuals until I started college. And that was after 3 years in the military... I led a very sheltered life and was incredibly naive.

Back when I went to school, P.E. was always finished with showers. Jr and Sr High. As Elad said, it was just part of the normal routine no one made a deal out of it.

If I looked I don't recall. But then back in those days I had no interest and thought myself 'shy' at best with the girls later I was convincing myself that my problem with lack of interest in the fair sex was a tendency toward celibacy.

I think the only guy's dick was the subject of any attention was the kid with the horse dick and who wasn't a grower (God I hope the poor lad wasn't a grower). He was the subject of mixed attention, admiration, fear (perhaps) the butt of a few jokes too but most likely horror that he made everyone else look so small.

My own reaction was more or less indifference with a twinge of fascination not sexual interest more of like the fascination when you come across other impossibly large things....

In are school we wear are boxers in the shower, then no one has to get caught and no one gets embarrassed. I have to focus on the lads faces if I'm chatting to them, becauses a few are very fit.

When I was young...er, lol, I always wanted to respect peoples privacy and so never went searching, but there were times when the guys would walk around, being guys and make lewd comments or gestures, one time involving me :'( . Cause I've always had for lack of a better term, a womanly figure... Not to make myself seem even more gay (if that's possible lol), but I have a big lower half, a small waist and shoulders that are rounded.

It's also one of the only things that make me upset when people point that out in public, cause it makes me less guy like :-\ . ("he looks like a girl") anything else is fine :-P
