No - That would make the religions stronger.
I am for removing any tax-exempt status. I pay tax on theatre tickets, the theatre company pays tax on their profits. Churches are a form of theatre. It's all a show, none of it is real.
I am for removing any state funding of faith schools. Faith schools can still exist, I just don't want my tax to fund them.
I've been thinking that an extension of certain laws to require any organisation from proclaiming anything as "fact" or "truth" to provide empirical evidence for it or face penalties (much like the Advertising Standards Authority ensures that adverts are fair and not misleading... but I'd have some real penalties)
I'd also remove the established church. I don't mind that it (the church, per se) exists, but having the "Lords spiritual" sit in the parliament and help decide laws is utter madness in this day-and-age.
I am also for removing "religion" as a protected right in the equality laws. If you look at what is protected, all but one item are things we do not have a choice in. I cannot choose my sexuality, my gender*, my gender identity, my race, skin colour, etc. I can, however, choose my religion (or lack thereof).
* Yes, I realise that trans people do make a choice to change their gender, but it is not as simple as waking up one day and deciding to be female. It takes a lot of medical procedures to make it happen... and even then there would be a lifetime of HRT to deal with. In some resected trans people still don't choose their gender, its just that their physical gender is different to their gender identity. (I hope that I didn't offend anyone with this bit. I am somewhat lacking in my knowledge on trans issues and I try to be respectful and empathic, but I know I may not be fully there.)

Be more specific.
Do you mean tear down physical buildings?
Or destroy religion?
Im for destroying religion.

I say no, because of all the history that would be lost and the fact that tearing them down wouldn't end the hate and bigotry.

I voted no, due to all that would be lost plus you don't know what would replace it, may be worse, but I am in favor of having any church losing it's non tax status if it engages in politics, Jim

I am hopeful that the various religions will evolve & adapt to modern times.
Science and Technology have made great advancements in the last 150 years, more so than in any other time in history. People now days are smarter & better equipped to challenge the archaic religious laws that once ruled our daily lives. In fact, many of the old religious laws and views about society have already been kicked to the sidelines and considered irrelevant. As an example, take the book of Timothy in the New Testament - Christians no longer expect women to behave as Timothy had prescribed.
Christianity is evolving (ever so slowly) and we can expect them to evolve in their thinking toward LGBT people. Several denominations have already evolved on this subject!!! Some a little more than others,,, but still,,, they are moving forward.
I have great hopes that a day will come in the not-so-distant-future, where our people will be fully accepted (just as we are) in the majority of Christian churches.
It still angers me to no end when I see or hear of any religious group who votes against or otherwise disparages the right of LGBT people to be treated equally.
Ever the optimist, my vote it to let them continue evolving.

you are all silly gooses!
If there was no religion there would be no war or money to even fight over. So I say destroy all religion and start over.
Also I'm just looking for ideas. Not sure what for but ideas that could help. And also I see how people don't really know much.
