If you are looking for intrigue, pornography, murder mysteries, and great poetry I strongly suggust the Holy Bible. Mind it reads much better in its Original Klingon. I kid you not, there is the Klingon Version. Quote:

Classic?
not really THAT classic but two that I really loved. Do androids dream of electric sheep 1984 Don't read dostoyevsky. I Managed to get through most of his books and although I can see the meaning behind the words, especially about the nature of man kind, I just got annoyed reading his style.

The Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian are my favourites. Quite old fashioned now, but beautifully written and with some great characters, both good and bad. There are 20 books in all, and you should start at the beginning with Master & Commander (not the same story as the movie). There are some gay threads there as well.
