Are scars unattractive?
#21
No they're hot.

I dunno, if you can't change something about you that you think might be unpleasant, then just become accustomed to it. Scars always have stories, and stories are sexy Tongue

I actually used this thing called Bio-oil when I had this big scar on my face from a bike accident, it pretty much faded away, it's not noticeable now.

Scars can form a beautiful tapestry that tells a story and gives depth and personality to its bearer...

Though others may obviously hold different opinions.

I find them pretty attractive personally, although I've never seen any extremely serious scars (like MisterTinkles was kind enough to show Laugh) so I can't honestly say I'd find every scar attractive. But in general I think they're cute. They tell a story (and usually make a decent conversation-starter), they make a person unique, they show a little vulnerability, and they show that the person's lived a little.

Personally, I seem to have been quite "lucky" when it comes to scars. I had an ice-skating accident (my first time) that basically left me with a huge slice across my inner thigh... and it didn't scar whatsoever. However, if I get the tiniest cut on my hands or arms, I'm marked for life, so I have about 6-10 little scars all over them from falling over, cat scratches, etc.

Still, to make my point, I don't think I'd ever reject someone based on a scar. Because that's shallow :3 At the end of the day, most people don't get scars on purpose, so why judge them for something they have no control over?

Like some have already pointed out,
if someone is shallow enough to resent you for the scars you have,
then they're not for you.

When people ask about your scars,
tell them you're a cancer survivor,
and how they're a great alternative to death.

The people that give you dirty looks,
return the favor with one back.

And you shouldn't be ashamed of your scars,
because they tell a story of survival,
and reflect your inner strength,
and will to live.

Those are great attributes,
in anybody lucky enough to have them.

Having a medium-sized scar on my stomach from appendix surgery that has been worrying me for a few years, I'll probably stalk this thread and make statistics related to the answers and maybe just maybe...
