Well HIV most definitely has it's origin in Africa
Most people place european colonization as the start point for cross-species jump....the first cases relatable to AIDS date back to 1930s, mainly out of people who had been in contact with monkey blood somehow or so it was theorized..bur then, why the locals hadn't been showing similar sindromes yet? I mean there have been humans in Africa since the dawn of time and SIV is a ye old virus
I agree the lack of recorded documents in Africa may have damn well left out AIDS cases before, but the velocity with which is has spread since the 80s, a velocity not documented in 20th century Africa definitely is in indicator that the cross-species jump was a rather recent one.
