Hello, from California (as in living there not from there). For what it's worth my father's side is Scots-Irish, my father a Cochran and his mom a Butler who's own parents or grandparents came from Kilkenny.

And my current partner was born a Lynch. She was married to an Anderson for awhile and her kids still bear that surname.
