Two George Stubbs painting saved for the nation

Two lesser known painting by the great British painter George Stubbs have been saved for the nation much to the irritation of Australia that had been negotiating to buy them. These were the first representations of Antipodean animals that were seen in Europe. The full story can be seen in the link below where there is also a video of David Attenborough.
