what really grinds your gears?

People who preach, yell, and force religion onto others, then go home and beat their kids and spouses, get drunk, do drugs, lie, cheat, steal, fuck around on their spouses, cuss, degrade other people for no reason, and act like they are supreme to everyone else.

One I experienced at school today:

Having a group project where the teacher gives us all the class time to work on it, without supervision (the teacher didn't show up), and having someone say they aren't meeting because they need to study for a test.

If its during regular class time, there is no excuse to take off that time to do personal stuff. Don't view the teacher not being there as an excuse to not show up. I have to wonder how that person has the time to go to class normally all these times and decide that THAT day of all days they can't show up. Grrrr...

If someone repeat tells me the exact same sentence more than 3 times, it drives me nuts. Other than that, it's probably the sound of nails scratching against blackboard.

When people tell me to do things without telling me why

When people cling to their authority like a child with a blanket, it's pathetic.

When people are completely ignorant of history.

People who do things for the sake of progress.

People who constantly refer to things from pop culture or TV

People who JUST AREN'T FUNNY BUT THINK THEY ARE. EUGH, especially people on youtube.

People who go on and on about crap that I've clearly shown no knowledge or interest in, yet just want to hear their own voices.

Another thing which honestly pisses me off is when people say this: "Oh we should look to the Scandinavian countries" without following it up with anything... What the hell do you mean? Are you saying we should all just start speaking North Germanic languages and adopt everything about their countries?

I don't think those people understand how differences between countries mean that you can't just look to a country that is succeeding in many aspects and say a sweeping vague statement "be like them".

Demographics, culture, economy, climate, geography, EVERYTHING is different. Countries need to develop their own systems, address their own issues by knowing themselves well, not just talk about other countries and whine about how their country could be better if it were 'more like' Sweden or Denmark or Norway.

Two specific things came to mind today:

1. I appreciate it when people use their turn signals to tell me when they are going to merge into my lane. I recognize this and allow them in safely. Instead, every driver here uses their signals to tell me that they are already 75% of the way in my lane and are about to hit me. That is... if they even use them at all.

2. I love it when a favorite band of mine comes out with a new album... until the radio stations play "that one song" that everybody loves on the album non-stop until I start to hate the whole damn album. Thanks so much.

I'm a pain in the ass, so i found a lot of things very annoying, I think I can quote something in -more or less- every single post in this topic...

I can say... In don't know if there's a right term in english, but something like "A Jack of all trades and master of none".
Cause in Italian 'tuttologo' is someone who suppose to be able of talk about everything, wanna always say his opinion even if he completely doesn't know the topic (and he doesn't admit that, he fakes to avoid that, like 'I know more than you'). I hate this ignorant attitude...
I hate ignorance in general, I'm a pain in the ass. XD

No sir....I have to use the demonyn American to designate United-Statian anything, that much is already established, like it or not on my part..

However, you haven't legally attained the name "America" for yourselves yet, so that much I will fight.....Biglaugh

unless you want to pay a good sum to the other 34 countries...you know...for copyright infringement in using a title that belongs to a Continent Biglaugh
