Yaoi
#1
So I haven't been myself these days, somehow can't seem to get along with people around me. It's like nothing makes me happy......Shit I didn't realize I'd sound like a teenage middle school girl O: Don't mind me trying to make a joke out of it my mind is really a mess. Other than that I have too much free time. All I've been doing is watching shit while eating chips.
Anyways I've watched all kinds of yaoi lately and whenever I close my eyes I see two hairless guys kissing you do the math. It just keeps me away from all the mess you know. It's far away from reality, yaoi. I mean seriously some don't even make sense? But that's what makes yaoi, yaoi. Even tho it drives me mad most of the time I like it when it includes cuteness, a guy who will never confess his true feelings to the one he likes, not when it includes endless sex scenes, these also include a specific character who reacts to someone's touch like it was the devil who touched him(relax he only just gently touched you didn't try to murder you).
Don't get me wrong I really enjoy it, makes me forget about the life I have to live(if that makes sense).
They're good and I like them because they don't involve real problems, shit that happens in real life every day. The biggest problem is that they are never sure about their feelings and when they are, it takes about 10 years for them to confess. Haha
So if you like yaoi.. is there a certain one you could name as your favorite one?

I prefer Bara.
Mentaiko is my favourite author, I love his style of drawing and his character are funny.

I have yet to read an actually good yaoi.

I get that the ridiculous and almost farcical detachment from reality is part of the appeal, but to me it just reads as corny and kind of silly.

They were fun to read but only for a little while.
I've read Junjo Romatica but stopped because itt just got ridiculous and kind of boring, I tried to reaf this other one that I cant remmeber the name of... the drawing style had really sharp chins is all I recall, but that was really bad it was just a whole lot exaggerated characters but the mangaka couldn't really pull it off and it ended up unreadable.

Oh god and then there's that one with the dog who became a man. That was funny for a while but the other stories were poor.

What makes Yaoi? its just one of those womens romance and sex novels but in a format men can deal with (pictures... and moving pictures! yay) which amuses me since the biggest target audience for it is young women.

I like Yaoi, usually the romantic ones though otherwise I'm just watching cartoon porn. I prefer the story line, and being cartoon which helps that "out of reality" thing to allow you to use your mind. It wouldn't feel the same to me if it was actual people.

Saying that I've read many styles of comics and watched a few styles of cartoons. I can even read anthropomorphic furry crap if its got a good cute storyline.

You will have to ask Frosty for the name of it, since she linked me to it. However it was a decent Yaoi about a pilot/navigator on a spaceship. Was actually quite good for the story line, little bit short in total though.

disregard, found it.

I'm not sure but is it something like Blue something... wolf I know of it and its a very old one from like the early nineties or late eighties.

I've never looked at it before. It does look good but I've never seen it categorised as Yaoi before.

I'm not very fond of Yaoi because I have yet to see one that doesn't suffer from at least one severe flaw. It often boils down to offensive scenarios meant to arouse, for example rape turned into consensual sex but more often than not it's just so frustrating watching uke/seme relationships develop. I get that the uke is supposed to be cute, innocent and in need of protection but I'd like to see more equal or realistic relationships. I mean, even non-pornographic yaoi makes plenty of poor decisions (from a narrative point of view) to please people of a certain mindset in a way that reminds me of porn.
