Weird...Seeing as he's engaged... my instinct is to say he has feelings for you. However, perhaps you were spending a lot of time together, and you immediatly dropped plans for your new interest, annoying him? That's an alternative, although that's such highschool girl drama that I'm hoping that's not true.
