I was thinking like Al Pacino :0

Question;

In regards to Werewolves knowing who one another are, would that not also be noticeable to the villagers and thus have the villagers know who they are?

Or are we playing this game by Anonymous pm's only?

For instance I'm picturing this;

Lillitu is a villager, okay so we know he's in the village. Wooly is also a villager, and say they both happen to be infected [Werewolf] and attacked the same village/place. Would not then the other villagers, who know Lillitu and Woolly to be villagers, then know that they are in fact werewolves?

Unless it's played directly through you, in which;

Lillitu and woolly are both known villagers, but because we cannot ascertain who they are by name, we're truely left in the dark and can only guess.

Which also presents a problem then if its anonymous, cause how then can two werewolves know each other even if they attack in the same place, as virtually everyone is/ will be anonymous? They could guess too, but then wouldn't that take a chance at revealing their identity to a non-werewolf player who can then eliminate them?

Unless that's part of the game, which is then pretty clever Wink

~~

Regardless, I wanna play, but make sure to go easy on me okay, cause I'm new :3

Also, I get scared of the dark, so make sure to have me inside early, kaaaay :p

The basic premise of mafia is that we post on the game thread not knowing who anybody is, thereby advancing the game through suspicions and witch hunts.

In the game that i played though, usually the bad guys would all know each other and communicate via a secret message board on another website or an instant messenger, so that they know who to kill at night.

I'm sure Rawr, as the gamemaster will guide us through the first game. it;s really easy to pick up.

Oh no, I understand the game.

I just didn't know if we were to post through him, as in all of our moves/turns/etc and he post the results as it seems he's implying or we use the anonymous feature here on gs and pm each other[werewolves] once we figured out who was who, which to me seems a tad bit more interactive.

As posting without anonimty would essentially be pointless.

But I am excited to figure it out and have Rawr explain it to my brainz. Cause I love strategy games.

oh right! sorry xP.

Actually that's a really neat idea... we'd have to put the thread in a weird place of the forum where it allows anonymous posting though. xD Like in the health and sex section

A lot of the moves will be anonymous, where people will need to contact me via PM. For instance, the villagers will need to PM me where they are hiding at night, whilst the werewolves will need to PM me on where they want to attack.

The vote to lynch a member of the village will be done in public, where people vote for a member and discuss why. This gives members the chance to band wagon, or try and persuade others etc...

The King can lynch someone in public, but that would give up their identity, so it would be best for them to PM me when they want to lynch someone.

Everything else will be in public such as discussing who, what, why and when. I guess you could disclose that you are a villager, but so could the werewolves.

I'll so add, that mostly the werewolves will know each other. But too make it harder, they won't know each other unless they bump into each other. I will PM them the info, and disclose it within the description. So the villagers will learn that the werewolves are in contact, but won't know who the werewolves are.

Your name must be Trevor, cause you sure is clever!

I understand now. Okay, I'm all caught up.

So in reality, only our goals/objectives/true nature is anonymous so long as we play it that way and only you will know.

So if I;

Choose to hide in a Lodge/Inn ->
I tell you in Pm ->
Wait until the time you post ->
And depending on whether or not I am in the same place as another or a werewolf attacks I either die or survive.

While pleading my case in the instance neither event happens, simply for the suspicion that because I survived the night I could be a werewolf and because voting is done in public with no prior knowledge of what my actions were, makes me that much more likely to be picked off...

Interesting.

Omg can we starttttt. I'm pumped!!!!! Lol

It reminds me kind of like Survivor or that game where,

You can only travel one path, and stepping off the path, stopping in the path, or opting to leave the game or losing, means you die[lose anyway]. And the only way to win is to kill whoever is in front of you.

Sheep omg I wanna play it in real life too. I wanna be the village concubine rofl.

Indeed! though I'll compose a list of places within the village for people to hide/attack in.
