For a bill named "Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill" (What the f*ck kind of name is that even) this bill is confusing to understand and read about.

So lobbyists have to be officially registered, and third parties are now limited in what they can donate to a union? Is that right?

Is this a problem because employers will have access to that registry? Why does this matter --- would they be black listed or something -- and wouldn't that happen anyway?

I don't really understand the mechanics/implications of this

Oh, thank you.

I understand, so it would prohibit community organizations from asking their members to vote for specific people. Seems silly, what if a community union existed and person A wants to dissolve said union, and person B didn't? Or a business was opened that released compounds proven to be harmful to developing infants and mothers wanted to say something about it, but now can't?

And it applies to everything?

Seems horrible for smaller groups. Obviously huge organisations will still be able to donate directly to law makers and make shifts on that huge level that the small person can't access.

The good news is that when your house votes they were evenly tied. Is there a party that is more democratic and for trade unions? If they're elected I think they might work to reduce the impact of this bill.

Edit: I guess your other party is UKIP? I initially said to vote for them, but they seem right winged so they'd probably support this (but perhaps not, I don't know how the political parties in your country behave, but that is how it would go here to generalize). I guess bills like this is the way the pendulum is swinging in your country right now.

Simpler: Politicians got together and made more laws to screw money out of you the tax payer, meanwhile immediately turning around and raising the spending amount for government, and they all said a lot of other lies and falsehoods with a smile.

In other words, politicians being politicians.

UK: Gagging Law

Hmmm, for a minute.......I thought that was a new law to protect "johns" from Sylphs advances, hiding under tables and in the toilets.

Go figure....
