Dali Lama supports gay marriage.

He had no reason to oppose gay marriage because Buddhism states that homosexuality is not good nor wrong. It can be both, depends on which lifestyle you'll follow.

Yup, actually during the time of Buddha, he is not aware of homosexuality yet (according to what i have read)..so he did not mention anything about it.

However, The Dalai Lama does not speak for all Buddhists since he has his own sect (particularly Tibetan Buddhism).

It is just his opinion and i think it has no basis.. There are still buddhists who have opposing opinions regarding homosexuality or gay marriage in particular
