ok, so like many of you, I've been through hell cause of my orientation. well I wanna work for a non-profit organization that goes to schools, community centers and etc. to talk about how bullies affect gay people and stuff like that. anyone know how I can look for an organization like this?

Great Idea its something that needs to be done because the ignorance kids and their parents have about us and our community is insane, hope you find something so you can comfort some of many living in fear of who they are and what they feel.

I know there's a few groups, including at least one large national one, that specifically focuses on promoting acceptance, and combating bullying in America. However, I'm not sure if there are chapters, or similar organizations in Canada. I'll do some digging and see if I can find more info for you. What part of Canada are you in?

One of the places I'd interview would be the local school where you know there's trouble. Don't specifically offer your services but say, as you have here, that you've contemplated a service that deals with this problem. What you're looking for is an entrée to someone at the city or even provincial level where, I'll bet, something like this does exist. What you need to be able to do is cite all those with whom you've spoken about their programmes and then subtly present an idea you have to assist with the problem. Whatever you do, don't hector people with your idea as very quickly you get pegged as the man with the plan about Gay Bullying and it's thought to be your only topic, Become involved with your educational system as a whole, it's easier to work from within than from without.

Congratulations on your idea. You should contact this organization - Egale (Canada Human Rights Trust). Unfortunately I can't post link here (My post count must be 50 or greater to be able to do that).
