What's on Your Mind
@ceez that is something I do worry about being in a really conservative and a rural area, you just never know if you'll just get an evil eye or if someone will harass you or worse. Of course doesn't help when growing up you get teased/bullied in school, you kind of don't want to draw attention to yourself. So I'm not huge on PDA.

As far as responsible guys... I guess they're out there and it is logical to assume that the more responsible guys aren't out looking for dates during the pandemic. I do hope they get going on the vaccine and that there aren't any problems with it when they start giving it to everyone.

Is it just me but does it seem like more and more guys are more infatuated with themselves, lacking personality? Maybe it is me, maybe it's this area, but it seems like the guys I try to talk to are more concerned about sending me their dick pics (and trying to get me to send them mine) than actually having anything that resembles a conversation. Then again I'm probably just an asshole.

lol @InbetweenDreams you don't seem like an asshole to me. what I discovered for my area is that scruff is used for dating/chat/friendships and grindr is for hookups, I should take a screen shot of the last time I opened grindr and forgot my location was on, one message was just "suck my dick" Grlaugh no hello or how are you and most of the grindr profiles are blank, it feels like I stumbled into a back alley Confused .    but scruff has guys that made actual profiles, I've had some good conversations on there but I'm still afraid of putting a pic on my profile, I still have some confidence issues.

A few days ago I had a dream where I was very happy to attend the high-school merged into my actual elementary school. It is healthy to say my life at school as a teen was not pleasant at all, so the dream itself gave me a very bad mood.

I wish I could tell someone other than a professional about my dreams since I seem to only have bad ones.

@BlueStar I didn't like high school either. I can't say I dreamt about it, although I do look back with not so great emotions. That being said, I very seldom ever remember my dreams and so often I forget details as soon as I wake up, if I remember anything at all. I'm it happens to just about everyone where you wake up and you can almost remember details, like it's on the tip of your tongue.

I don't know much about reading dreams but we can pick on the obvious, perhaps there are some clues as to why you had what was seemingly a pleasant dream about highschool when I assume you have been out of school for a while?

That being said, perhaps you can turn a negative into a positive somehow? What would you hope to learn about your dreams? What do you think it means?

Try to master your inner voice, your consciousness....think of a sailboat. No you can't always sail into the wind, although it can be done, but you have control on where you steer. What I am trying to say is that we all have the ability to learn to control how we feel, or whether we allow something to make us feel a certain way. That being said, we're human, I let shit bother me all the time but since becoming more aware that I am the thing that feels I try to remind myself not to get angry or sad....easier said than done...but it is something we can all benefit from.

@InbetweenDreams My point was only to tell about my dreams to the few people I love, which, unfortunately, I cannot see very often.

As for explaining the last one, among many others I have had over the years, returning to high-school in this dream means I somehow miss having that massive crowd of unknown people around me. Probably because I used to slightly enjoy every new year's beginning before it turned out to be worse than the precedent.

The merge with my elementray school, on the other hand, goes back to the warm part of my childhood I miss today, where we still had only each other to play with as neighborhood kids, instead of keeping our distance like most people are doing these days.

I ended high-school in 2015, the last year being warmer and smoother than all the others, maybe because people wanted to enjoy my presence before I take a one-way flight to Europe.

So yeah, I understand quite well why the hell my emotions are so twisted. I have been living in pain everyday for a long time because I miss having those few moments of intense affection I had just a few days prior to my flight. I still have no idea how to turn that kind of negative into positive, since I can't seem to be able to get any closer to my loved ones, but that's another story.

You are right, easier said than done. The morning I wake up from bad dreams, I can be dark-mooded and aggressive for several days, although I definitely need someone to talk to at the very same time.

So some of you might know that I dabble in amateur radio. Amateur radio is a more conservative group of people, at least it seems so in the US. I didn't want to make a thread about this issue specifically so I thought I would put it here. Here's a couple things, one I am disgusted I heard this over there are and while I'm not totally surprised to hear this out of people it is most definitely *not* in the spirit of amateur radio and depending on your interpretation of the FCC rules may even violate Part 97.113 in that it is obscene language. Not that they're saying bad words on the air but they're referring to shooting people with a gun and blowing up ballot boxes. This is the same night I made an announcement that a youth leader who is staying in the area with middle school aged children was going to try to make contacts with some ham radio operators while they were on their trip, our "net" started before they were back but there is always a chance that other people might be listening. The obvious problem is that yeah they were making jokes and weren't being serious, this is not appropriate in my opinion for amateur radio and the fact that they think this good stuff to joke about says a lot about their character as well.

That being said, the FCC has this to say in Part 97 section 113 about what you're not allowed to transmit (this is in layman's terms because TL;DR)

- Communications that result in profit (you can't use amatur radio for monetary gain)
- Music (except for a few cases where you're communicating with the ISS)
- No broadcasting (one way communications, re-broadcasting TV, etc)
- Communications intended to facilitate a criminal act, encoded or encrypted messages, obscene or indecent words or language or false or deceptive messages.

Here's what was said, after which I turned off the radio and went on with New Years Eve...

"Oh, just a few minutes ago there was shootin' outside and Larry and I'm wondering if maybe there was a democrat running down the street and people were taking shots at him, I don't know if that's actually true or not. *laughts* Something going on, it's calmed down now. It didn't sound like firecrackers, it sounded like gunshot. So ugh yeah, this is a pretty conservative neighborhood so I don't know. Anyway this--with that net control this is (call sign redacted) back to you sir"

"Well they don't need to run him into my neighborhood if it was one because there's a few people down the road that's going to light him up *laughs* I can tell you that. But anyway that sounds like a pretty good generator you got there--I hear, there's fireworks going on I don't know if they're shooting them off you know in (location redacted) in the city but I heard some pretty good booms. Maybe they're blowing up those absentee ballot boxes over in Georgia they really need to, that election might come out like it's supposed to have if they'd blow up some of those ballot boxes there. But anyway, that 50 amp service on that is pretty good and wattage sounds really good..."

I want your opinion, my intent is to raise a little cane tonight, especially given light of the recent events in our country.

You may remember that before Christmas they made redundancies where I work. Funny thing is now is they are hiring again. Apparently they moved too many people from my store so that when someone else left because they were fed up with it all, now we definitely don't have enough staff. I could see it coming. The people on the shop floor often can way before the powers that be.

Yep got to love capitalism for that.
