It was told to me again that my typing style is offensive to some. Somebody admitted that their friend unfriended me on Facebook because my postings made her fly into a rage everytime she read them. What was it I was doing?
Double-spacing after a period.
Of course, when I learned to type (on a manual typewriter), this was considered correct. So I've carried that idea (and muscle memory) forward when I started posting online. But over the past couple of decades, this form apparently has gone from "standard" to "quaint" to "old-fashioned" to "a sign of illiteracy" to "borderline offensive". I'm not entirely sure how, in a online world of "teh" and comment sections, that double-spacing can have room to offend, but I don't make the rules. So consider me on the slow path to single-spacing now. It'll probably be a slow move, but I'll get there.
