It might seem a strange subject but, given what is going on in so many parts of the world today, to the best of my knowledge, there are no official war artists as there were in the firs and second world wars. I thought that this BBC article was interesting and never knew that the first painting that was commissioned was in fact censored. You can find out why in this article:
