Yeah PA...I always thought he was talented and I liked him well enough but after talked to him...I liked him a lot more. He was very sweet... and a little shy . When I saew hi again the next day and his entourage was with him I felt sorry for him. We made eye contact and I really felt he was trapped inside of his persona whereas the night before he only had his body guard who had wandered off and he was a lot more comfortable...I didn't let him know I knew who he was.

OK....My next one I hate to post because I hate that he died and would rather pretend he didn't.....Nick Asford...one half of Ashford and Simpson and one of the greatest love stories in music. They wrote and produced so many things including Ain't No Mountain High Enough...and The Boss. Valerie met Nick in the park one day and the rest is history.....they were a great couple. I sent her a note with my condolences when he died. They were one of my favorite groups and I have everything they have ever done individually and collectively in my collection

Nick Ashford (1941-2011)

Many people will remember the group Exposé, who from the late 80s to early 90s, sold 3 million cds and scored 8 Top 10 hits. The members are Jeanette Jurado, Ann Curless, and Gioia Bruno.

However, what many people may not know is that before them, 3 different ladies were the members of Exposé. Those 3 ladies were Aléjandra (Alé - pronounced Al-lay) Lorenzo, Sandra Casanas {then Tolla} (Sandée - pronounced san-day) & Laurie Miller. After two singles (Point Of No Return & Exposed to Love), Alé, Sandée & Laurie split up, and were replaced with Ann, Jeanette, and Gioia.

On December 15, 2008, Sandée was found dead in her Hollywood, Florida, home. The cause of death was determined to be a severe seizure, she was only 46.

Here is a news story on the original Exposé when they first released "Point Of No Return" in 1985.

After her departure from Exposé, Sandée went solo, and released the freestyle single "You're The One" on Atlantic Records. Here is a performance on Dance Party USA.

Atlantic records declined to offer Sandée an album deal, and she was released from the lable after that hit single. Fever records signed Sandée, and she recorded the full length CD "Only Time Will Tell". The first single was "Notice Me", which went on to be a big club and radio hit. Here is another fan made video featuring images of Sandée, which includes a cover of the "House version" of the song. The video below is the freestyle version.

The second (and last) single from "Only Time Will Tell" was "Love Desire". A departure, it has a slower beat, and is a mix of spoken word, and singing. It was the only video that Sandée made. Not long after, Sandée stopped recording music.

Sandée stayed active on the freestyle scene, performing in clubs and arenas in multi-act shows, most recently performing in NYC at the Copacabana to a sold out show. I had the good fortune to meet Sandée backstage at the arena in Miami. She posed for pics, and was very excited to see I had a copy of her cd, which she held up for everyone to see, and signed for me.

She was very humble, classy, and friendly. She was excited about going back into the studio to start a new project.

She's survived by her son Maurice, and her grandaughter.

Time for Lady T...Teena Marie...so young when she passed away.....She was a protégé of Rick James who proceeded her in death...I wondered if they were soul mates...I kinda had a feeling they were. She was prolific in the 1980s mostly and though I liked her stuff and she was commercially successful...I always liked her first stuff the best...

..and since I did a tribute to Teena...can't leave out Rick James. I thought he was innovative and I liked funk R&B stuff so I liked listening to him...very talented ...

Salvador Dali drew a portrait of him on a napkin at a dinner party in Hawaii and Rick forgot it was there the next day when he went for a swim and had it in his pocket (YIKES)

Damn...I was gonna stick to Musical Artists but Robin Williams was a guy I loved a lot and I am sad that he has left the building.....

I hate to think about how he suffered with depression and felt suicide was his only way out....

I always appreciated how he was supportive in the early days of AIDS. He worked very hard trying to dispel the fears so many people had of gay people using his unique insight and wit.....

Some of my favorite moments.....

THE VATICAN & HOMOSEXUALITY

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM

He brought a lot of joy in to my life. His humor, at times, masked my own depression. I am sad.

Good Morning Vietnam and What Dreams May Come were my favourite

Of course, Mork was the introduction for most of us to Mr. Williams

It's the very first time in my life that I can say I am going to miss an artist. Robin has been my favorite actor of all time and I'm going to miss him, miss him so much. Darn depression, it takes all the best away.
