I can tell you from my own experience that folks are inherently good and kind.

the only reason they might not be is defense.

I'm brand new here myself but I do try to give people benefit of the doubt... if they're being mean it's probably because someone was mean to them at some point.

people are inherently good and it's not easy being gay dude sometimes.

let me correct that, I'm not brand new, just haven't been around lately.

look for the good in people's eyes. they say the eyes are the windows of the soul...

without being too corny, that is pretty much true IMHO
