I don't let anyone else define what a "friend" is for me except myself...and I have had thousands of gay friends (I worked in a gay bar for 20 years which is why I know so many gay men)....most of them died during the gay holocaust. They are still my friends and part of them is alive inside of me as long as I am alive.
I think friendship exists on many levels and a casual friendship is satisfying in it's own right as an intense and close friendship...they are different but still both are friendships.
I meet people very easily in my day to day life and I consider a lot of people 'friends"....
Hallmark and their definitions of friendship and love...and everything else...can bite me.
(Sorry about the 'tude...just listened to this person who has never been in love nor had a boyfriend and is 48 tell me what "love means" (I didn't ask)...I was polite as I listened to him for too long...he sounded like a walking and talking Hallmark card...grrrr)
