The first US Ebola patient has died.

Quote:Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient to be diagnosed with Ebola outside Africa since the current outbreak began, died on Wednesday, the hospital treating him in Texas announced.

And a possible second, from among those being monitored, has been hospitalized....
He is one of the police officers that delivered the quarantine papers to the family.

Sure am glad that the GaySpeak forum is free of the gossip and rumors circulating amongst the major news sources.

If nothing else, these discussions do add a bit of levity to my day.

Virge Wrote:Yep it does. In another 4-5 months we'll look back at all this and ask, "why the hell did I believe one damned word they tried to tell us back then?"

All of the supposed doctors trying to tell us there's no big threat are just trying to prevent epic panic.

If it gets bad here I'd be in favor of rounding up everyone who told us not to worry about ebola or air flights out of western africa and make them get named and clean up ebola vomit with their hands.

looks like I over estimated how long it would take.
Heard news this morning there's 2 more cases from Texas and over 40 hospital employees being watched to see if they were exposed to it.

64% of the US says keep people from infected countries from coming here.
What's the govt doing? Nothing.

Then this morning I heard the CDC chief say they know how ebola spreads but they don't know how 2 more people caught it. So WTF does he really know?

There was a report on BBC news this morning of a man who flew in to London from Liberia via Holland. He reported that the screening at the London aiport was more or less a farce. He had to fill in a form declaring if he had any symptoms and had his temperature taken and that was it! At the end the person handling his case extended his hand to shake hands with him, something that no one in Liberia does now. We are all at risk.
