Casual sex
#21
Jake Wrote:That's very nice but how do you get in the relationship in the first place. I don't believe that you called it a relationship the very first time you had sex? So believe it or not it was casual sex when you started. I'm very sorry to remove the "beautiful" from it, but let's call a cat a cat.

The last two boyfriends I had I met online, got to know them, and dated them for 2 months before I had sex with them.

I told them from the start that I take my time getting to know someone before I have sex with them, and if they didn't want to wait, it would be best for them to move on, they were willing to wait. I go "old school" and hold hands, kiss, make out and work my way up to sex.

So yes, I've been in a relationship with everyone that I've had sex with.

Just remember, too, that sometimes during casual sex, you may start to develop feelings for that person. Even if it's only for one night, you can start to feel connected to them. And, in some cases, they will try to lead you on and pretend that they feel the same way. And they might even promise to stay in contact with you the next morning. However, once you leave their place, they will drop you completely, and that will hurt more than you expect it to.

I wish I could just erase my past, I was so stupid and insecure and used to have sex with anyone that approached me.

Far from me to say that you didn't... You have your own definition of what constitutes a relationship and it's alright with me and for you indeed, for me two months, even though there's no sex involved isn't a love relationship, it is a relationship in the sense that you relate and get to know them, but a love based relation takes much more than two months in my opinion.

I agree! a relationship is based on being in a comfort level with someone, that YOU already dealt with some kind of difficulties or differences, but that both were able to worked out together!

After two friends died in quick succession I became markedly less interested in taking any chances. It's not a moral or "I'm better than you" thing... I am just haunted by how that made me feel and it served as a real appetite dampener. I'm pretty content with skin contact for the most part.

Your past is what makes you unique. Yes, you would have done things differently, but would have they been been better? Not really! I for say do not regret my past, yes I was a whore, an escort, a strip dancer and a porn performer, but at least I'm coming to my 40 and because I had enough sex for two lives, I really am not envious or jealous of anyone being promiscuous. And I know I can enjoy being with someone my age without the feeling that I'm running after younger guys because I refute being gay when I was younger. I did what I had to do and this has shaped the person I am.

I think you need to ask yourself: were you originally pursuing relationships for the sex? Or do just want sex, period?

Casual sex is fine, but be prepared for the small chance of feeling empty afterwards when you realize or learn that you need the emotional aspect after all...

casual sex is overrated. it is up to the individual if you just want to have sex with a random stranger. although, everyone is a stranger before you start getting to know someone. I can tell you that when you have sex with someone and there is an emotional connection, that kind of sex trumps casual sex any day.
