homosexual thoughts an essential part of human evolution

"animals can detect. pheromones are little known molecules in bodily secretions such as sweat, urine, saliva, and anogenital emissions, whose primary function is to inform individuals about the sex, fertility status (i.e. in heat or not), and social rank (essentially among males) of other individuals in the same species"

I know Virge is horny; I don't need to smell his farts.

Quote:However, because sexual behaviour is intimate and pleasurable, it is also used in many species, including non-human primates, to help form and maintain social bonds. We can all see this in romantic couples who bond by engaging in sexual behaviour even when reproduction is not possible.

exactly. it always struck me odd that some people kept overstressing the reproductive aspect of sex, while most of the time people don't do it for reproductive purposes at all. its primary objective is pleasure and connection with another human being. reproductive concerns only come in after those two. it seems silly and obtuse how some people don't understand it.

Thanks for the encouragement, Virge, but I don't dare eat all I want. You must know what a slice of pecan pie does to a diabetic, right? But I can always wish. The occasional baked sweet potato does get past the censors, though.

All this talk of bonding being enabled by urges and hormones does play into some thoughts I have had for a long time. When people start that silly talk about "who is the guy and who is the girl" in a gay relationship, I keep trying to explain that it is all guy stuff, that it is a powerful bonding of guys who are guys. Maybe this helps my argument.
