Best cities in the Midwest to visit?

Iceblink Wrote:Detroit and Cleveland have very unique character and it is not what people think of when they think of the Midwest. It might be their location. Both cities are skirting the edge of the what is considered the Midwest and it is a closer drive to the East coast cites than it is to the Heartland. In the last few years and especially the last couple, the downtown and midtown areas of Detroit have comeback spectacularly, new stores, clubs, restaurants, bars, entertainment venues. The evenings and weekends draw a lot of people to the area.
With all of the attention put on revitalization of the downtown area, it leaves most of the city still in shambles and untouched. Unfortunately, that is not uncommon for cities that have come back from the brink of destruction.

Detroit and Cleveland are Midwest. Cleveland in particular might be a dual citizen (Midwest and Northeast) but they are definitely a part of the region.

If you want to see Rapid City area try to do it before June or after August. it gets crowded with families and motorcycle clubs coming to Sturgis not far away. You can come in on Interstate 90 during the summer and there will be thousands of motorcycles coming and going. Theres so many of them thousands of them sleep in tent cities that go on for miles.

Most people think its just for Mt Rushmore and the Sitting Bull monument but thats just a little of what goes on here. Rushmore and Sitting Bull will take 3 hours. You can spend 4 days in the Black Hills here and never get bored. South of here is what they call the badlands which is like going to another planet. Just don't pick up rocks or fossils there or you might end up in jail. Deadwood SD is not far and always fun.

There are no gay bars here but if someone ever opens one in the right place it will be packed out all summer with gay bikers.
