East Wrote:I had most of my gifts wrapped by last March and I will do most of my shopping for next year by the end of February...same with birthdays...I get the gift thing out of the way well before it is time...

As usual...the problem is I have no idea what is in most of the packages LOL

I completely avoid Christmas Day celebrations/dinners so nothing else to do....

Some years we go to Reno to escape...or go to the movies and out to dinner.....

Christmas Day is PTSD/Bad Memory time so avoiding it is our Christmas Gift to ourselves Smile

I do the same thing; we have a whole cabinet full of stuff I have bought over time with someone in mind. I also sometimes forget who it was for! Both our families threw us for a loop with "secret Santa" so we now only shop for four people, and we don't know who it will be until Thanksgiving. I'm campaigning to get the drawing of names moved to the September birthday observances in both families.

I'm sorry this is a tough time for you; I hear that from a lot of people.

Found two copies of "Awesome Mix #1 " on cassette, so snapped those up as bonus gifts. The only thing to do now is help my partner through the holiday - he's cooking, and he lost his father this year, which is going to make things difficult for him.

His father was a Freedom Rider. Every December, he used to take his motorcycle up north to...Maine, maybe?...and drive Christmas wreaths back to Arlington Cemetery to lay on the tombs of veterans. A friend of my partner's father sent him a photo a couple days ago - his father's motorcycle group had brought a special wreath to put on his father's grave. It was one of those photos that broke him down crying, but made him feel better at the same time.

So Christmas pudding came out perfectly from the mould, the Hard Sauce and rum sauce are done, the veggies are all prepped and the presents wrapped waiting to be put under the tree in the morning.....cats made sure that there was no napping though....so I expect to be out early tonight.

^ He's still overdressed.

Got my holiday bonus and a solo cup full of passable sparkling wine from my boss. Don't know how much it is - I don't open it until Christmas. But I know he always gives what he can, and it was a really good year for us, so I'm pleased for all concerned.

House is mostly cleaned up, presents wrapped, food prepared. I just have to shower and head over to mom's with the goodies here in a bit. I'm procrastinating this last part to spend what time I can with Twist here before our mother's take our attention and time.

Merry Christmas, guys. I hope it's awesome for all of you

I've been ready for a while.

The presents are wrapped, cards are mailed, dessert for tomorrow is done, tortellini is done, tomorrow morning I'll make my meatballs.

Smile

Lunch at 2:00 at mom and dad's, and they're only 10 minutes away.
